End the Ban on Love / Third Place (tied) : Student
Shih-yun’s project is a call to action to END THE BAN ON LOVE and let the USA achieve the goals of its founding fathers’ —equality for all. Often due to religious views and prejudice, the right to love is not afforded to all Americans. Instead of showing the classic rainbow colors to represent gay rights, Shih-yun used quotes from the USA founding fathers’ to convey the message that JUSTICE, LIBERTY, and EQUALITY should be universal rights experienced by all people. The founding fathers appear to be hiding in the posters to illustrate that they could not achieve their ideals.
